How To Avoid Getting Banned By Google

Considering the fact that Google allows seventy percent of its traffic to pass through, it would indeed be harmful for a smalls scale businessman or any business enterprise for that matter to be banned by the Google search engine.

With a million marketing techniques to optimize your content to make it Google friendly, steps must be taken no to over do it least you are penalized by Google for the same. The first tip to avert such a disaster would be to create a site which caries enough Meta information suited to the site and quality content suited to a large audience. Optimizing the search code leading to your site for the sake of marketing is a must which must however be done moderately keeping in mind the following tips.

Spam

Avoid spam at any cost! Spamming involves sending unsolicited junk mail to users without their consent or by fooling them into going their consent. Such actions deserve the banning of sites.

Link Farming

Link farming is done to garner more ads and increase the number of clicks to raise the ranking of sites. These sites are actually useless and one must avoid visiting these sites as far as possible. Though one cannot control the sites that link to your site, you can control the links that are contained in your site.

Excessive Linking

Agreed that it is the dream of every site builder to have his site appears on the Google index, but this is beginning to turn into an obsession. This is taking the form of a hundred links on a page to an extent that there are more links on a page than content. Try spreading the links over the pages of the website so that your audience is not affected.

Cloaking

Cloaking is the ideal route to having your site banned. Cloaking involves designing a search engine friendly page and designing another page which is displayed when a user clicks on the original link. This is manipulating the search engine and is not looked upon very nicely by most search engines.

Selling page rank

Selling links on a highly ranked page is another ghost riding on the SEO marketing wave. Selling links will not increase the Google page rank. Links can however be sold for the sake of advertising.

Doorway pages

It is another cheap marketing gimmick in which a page full of the keywords appears on the search result. A website consisting of many such doorway pages primarily to gain page rankings stands a greater chance of being banned by Google.

Excessive cross linking

Linking together of many sites created by the same site builder with almost similar content is called cross linking. This is again done to improve page ranking. Inter linking is permitted and is much neater that cross linking if done on moderation keeping in mind all the basic marketing techniques.

Multiple URL submission for the same site

Many users submit more than one URL of the same site to increase the probability of the appearing on the Google list. Avoid this. By increasing the number of URLs submitted to Google, the page ranking will not increase.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO software

Using unwarranted SEO software to check your page ranking and improve the marketability of the site will not be in acceptance with the Google terms and conditions. On incidence of the terms being violated, Google may ban the site.

The idea behind avoiding a potential ban is to keep the site simple and true to the purpose behind the setting up of the site. Concentration must be on partnering or lending/borrowing links with sites sharing similar content. Do not get too obsessed with page ranking. Instead focusing on the quality of the site and site traffic will hold you good in the long run.
